Leverage the iPad for learning by using it as a tool to create, collaborate and think critically. In this workshop, FREE powerful and versatile apps will be introduced. Explore project ideas to address the Common Core Standards. Get inspired and design a project for your classroom. This can be offered as a three hour workshop or two 1.5 hour series.
Strategically use apps to foster:

- project-based learning
- collaboration
- inquiry and research

(Participants need to bring their own ipad and be able to install a free app onto their ipad.)

Learn some powerful apps and multiple platform web tools to foster collaboration, capture student learning and bring greater relevance to research projects. This workshop can be tailored to any grade level using iPads, laptops, Chrome Books or other tablets and can be an hour and a half to a half day.

Writing, the Common Core and iPads

Participants will be introduced to several FREE iPad apps (including Storykit, Popplet, Kidblog, Fotobabble, Educreations and more) to address Common Core writing standards. We will brainstorm project ideas to address standards W.2 and W.6 through grades K-8. Be ready to, learn, share and create meaningful writing assignments for your students.  

Participants will walk away from the session ready to use iPad apps to develop a writing project to address Common Core Standards in their classroom. This workshop can be a half-day, full day or a series of 3 1 1/2 hour sessions.

Strategically use project apps to address:

  • informational text writing
  • collaboration and online publishing 
  • research and information text reading
